Outdoor Siren Test
Posted on Wednesday, April 22 @ 10:31:38 MDT by michael

Montana News

From The K-B-L-G News Center...

THE OUTDOOR SIRENS IN YELLOWSTONE COUNTY WILL BE TESTED TONIGHT.

ALL 24 SIRENS ARE SCHEDULED TO SOUND FOR ONE MINUTE AT SIX P.M.

THE EXERCISE IS IN CONJUNCTION WITH SEVERE WEATHER AWARENESS WEEK, AND IS DESIGNED TO RE-ACQUAINT THE PUBLIC WITH THE WARBLE OF THE SIRENS, AND TO TEST THE SIRENS TO MAKE SURE THEY'RE WORKING.

THERE ARE 17 SIRENS IN BILLINGS AND LOCKWOOD, TWO IN LAUREL, AND ONE EACH IN BROADVIEW, CUSTER, HUNTLEY, SHEPHERD, AND WORDEN.

IF IT WERE A REAL EMERGENCY, THE PUBLIC WOULD BE ASKED TO GO INSIDE, CLOSE ALL DOORS AND WINDOWS, AND TURN ON THE RADIO, TELEVISION, OR NOAA WEATHER RADIO FOR FURTHER INSTRUCTIONS.
